Ok so it was not much of a ceremony but we were excited for Jayben to get his cast off. The last picture at home before the cast came off. He was so happy to finally be able to straighten his right arm.
He was very brave while they cut off the cast with the saw.
He even thought it tickled a little. We opted for a water proof cast. Here are the pro's and con's of the cast
Con:
It's not soft on the inside.
The waterproof liner shrinks and Jayben cut his hand on the cast one day.
Pro:
It's waterproof! No need to worry about bathing or boys being boys.
I would totally do it again (and I'm afraid that is a decision I will have to make again, gotta love boys!). Just make sure to have some tape around the edges for comfort.
