first soccer game!

Jayben had his very first soccer game. His team did not have jerseys and it was freezing cold. The other team had obviously played before. They were bigger, meaner, and faster.
Jayben ran off of the field at least one time, threw himself on the ground at least four times, karate chopped the other team three times and only kicked the ball two times. Mostly, he stood there. The end of the game the kids celebrated with caprisun's and fruit snacks.
But when we got into the car Jayben was sad and he told us "losing isn't fun!" He's definitely my kid.

Ha, Jayben just looks too little to be playing soccer! I love that he karate chopped the other team!! Good job Jayben!

Maybe you could invent a new sport of Kung-Fu Soccer! That also involves eating fruit snacks on the field--that way maybe losing won't be so bad!! I was bummed that Landon cannot play until the fall! But they both still seem so little! How Fun!

Salomon is having a birthday soon and we are getting together at Millrace Park (1200 W 5400 S Taylorsville UT - weather permitting... otherwise it will be at our house) and he would love it if you guys could make it (and Ben's parents too if they want/can). I'm glad to hear that my son is not the only one who was 'less-than-brilliant' at his first attempt with sports :) Maybe we should just skip the sports part and jump straight to the snacks and capri-suns ;)

Because he is your kid (and Ben's) he probably won't have to get used to losing too many times!
