What a wonderful time of year. Christmas is so much fun with a 4 year old. He could hardly wait to open up his presents. I was barely out of bed before he ripped the wrapping paper off the first present. I was feeding Lincoln while he was unwrapping most of his presents so our pictures are still shots from the video camera. Jayben got a bunch of Transformers, Bakugan, and Hot wheels, he also got a surprise present which I will explain later.
We draw names with Bens side of the family and on Christmas eve we open one present from that person. Jayben accidently opened the wrong present. He just saw his name on one and started ripping it open.
Lincoln got a bumbo chair. He might be a little small for it still. But I thought he looked cute in it anyway. He also got some socks, clothes and toys. What do you really get a 2 month old?
I got lots of running gear, new shoes, ipod, nike+ sport kit. I also got some boots and cute shirts.
In my defense. They were his size and someone put them in the men's section of Ross. But once he got them out and put them on we realized they really weren't his size or mens shoes. Boo.
We got to Bens parents house around 10:30 in the morning. After I made a trip to meet the guy I got the Blackberry from because he forgot to put the battery back in the box. I still love KSL. Anyway, we ate some food and opened more presents. We all got some great stuff. Ben and I got a ClearPlay DVD player for our theater. So excited to be able to edit out the junk from good movies. Lincoln got a mobile for his crib. Jayben got some cars and other toys. This is when we found his Christmas surprise.
Jayben had also had a fever off and on since Wednesday night. We didn't know why and he wasn't complaining of anything. We kept giving him Ibuprofen to help his 102 fever. We went home to shower before heading to my parents house. Ben told Jayben he had horrible breath and we needed to brush his teeth again. As soon as he said that I told Ben to check his throat and I heard an "oh crap". I ran into the bathroom and to our surprise Jayben had a huge swollen tonsil. We took him over to Bens parents house to do a quick strep test and it was negative. We started making phone calls to all the doctors that we know their numbers. It was a long list of two. Luckily for us. One of our most favorite soccer teammates married a doctor and he was nice enough to call in a prescription for Augementin for Jayben. We had to find the only open pharmacy. We headed to Walgreens and finally headed to my parents house. Where there actually was a doctor in the house.
Jon checked out Jayben and said he probably had an abcess on his tonsil. Yuck! Oh and we figured out (the hard way) that he has to eat when he takes the medicine or he will puke.
At my parents house we got a new printer/scanner. So I can update lots of old pictures now.
Jayben got a robot dinosaur thing. He named it Rocket and is excited to have a new pet. I am excited it won't poop in my house!
Lincoln got some clothes and a soccer rug for his room.
All in all it was an eventful Christmas. It was a long day but worth it to be able to spend time with both families!

Interesting that the dinosaur has the same name as the dog. He must really like that name.
Sounds like a great Christmas minus the throat. You are at Harpers right now without me :( Hope you're having fun. Lincoln looks so old sitting in his Bumbo! Can't wait for vball. I think Kyle's game for me playing...cross your fingers (not that it really matters, I'd go anyway, but I don't like having a grumpy Kyle around).
"It's Christmas morning 2009..."
Sounds so fun!! That is really funny about the ladies shoes!! So sad we don't get to see each other on x mas day any more since grandma doesn't do it anymore! Somebody should have it at their house so we can all see everybody:)
I am laughing SO hard about the womens shoes......that is CLASSIC. SO Great!
