The old ghetto cabin

In August we went to Ben's parents cabin. My ideas of what a cabin were not the same as what I actually saw when we pulled up. This cabin was built in the early 1900's. So we almost had to live like pioneers for the weekend. (I think I have built this identical cabin out of Lincoln logs before). This picture was taken when we got back from Yellowstone a tree had fallen on top of the cabin. The area was so beautiful. Nothing like hanging with family in the middle of nowhere.
The day we went to Yellowstone there was a storm. The morning started out so perfect, it was beautiful and a good temperature and the other half was so windy. Check out the picture in front of Old Faithful.

Things we should all remember about our family trip to the cabin:

  • Logan going "snipe" hunting with his uncles.

  • Hugo and Arturo catching a frog and a fish.

  • Ashley and Logan sleeping in the Durango to avoid the mice.

  • Desi's "ride" on the scooter.

  • Of course, the tree on top of the cabin and the power being out for the day.

  • Peggy driving for miles to find a shower.

  • Josh bathing in the "crick."

  • Jona and Gloria's trip to Montana while trying to find the cabin in Idaho.

  • Ben and Josh sticking their bums out of their shorts to get people to go to sleep. (You know you just pictured them crawling across the cabin floor.)

  • Kia needing to stop for the bathroom every couple of miles on the ride to the cabin.

  • THE OUTHOUSE! Need I say more.

  • Jayben tackling the older kids.

  • Once again, Josh and Ben using their bums to get everyone to sleep. This time with sound effects and scents.

  • Spending time together. (Aaww)
