packed like pickles!

So, yesterday for school we went on a tour of the Salt Lake County Jail. On our way back down stairs me and two of my other friends thought it would be funny to jump like little kids do in the elevator. When the elevator came to a screeching halt, we thought it was a joke. Keep in mind there were 21 people in there, two pregnant ladies and at least four claustrophobic crying women. Can you imagine 21 adults fanning themselves and trying to tell jokes while standing nose to nose. It was probably a great site for the sheriff watching through the camera in the elevator. After 26 minutes and three calls to maintenance we knew we were in trouble. Our tour guide had a walky-talky and we could overhear the maintenance people asking for a 5 foot ladder. The door was jammed, they had to pry it open with a broom stick. And we had to climb out of a 2 1/2 foot gap, down the ladder, to a group of police officers aka our rescue crew.

What a crazy experience... especially for the two prego girls! Thank goodness it was only 26 minutes, although I am sure that seemed like a lifetime. So, was it because you jumped or just that the door was broken? too funny.

THIS REMINDS ME OF THE GOOD OLD DAYS IN THE ZCMI ELEVATOR IN THE VALLEY FAIR MALL. DO YOU REMEMBER THE PANIC?
