We both had the afternoon off on Thursday. It seemed like the perfect opportunity to take Jayben to the Trout Farm. After finding Cold springs trout farm we were very excited to get to go fishing. And so was Jayben. There wasn't anyone around when we got there so we read the rules and instructions and got started. First you get a bucket and fill it with water, and then you pick a pole with a piece of leather on it, next you fish! There is no fee to be there but you must pay for each fish that you catch and trust me, catching is the easy part. This is my kind of fishing.
Within the first few minutes we already had caught our first fish. Jayben was so excited, although he was not very eager to touch them.
There are 6 different ponds to fish from, some have smaller fish and some have big fish. This would be the ideal place to have a family reunion. There is a volleyball area, picnic areas, horse shoes, tetherball, and of course fishing for everyone. The ponds are all FILLED with fish, it's crazy.
After catching 8 fish! We took them to be measured and cleaned. They even filleted them for us. Jayben loved watching every minute of it, even when they took the fish in one hand and knocked them out, cut off their heads and pulled out the bones.

Cute pic of your boys. I'll have to talk my Mother in Law into taking us up there before the weather gets cold. Sounds like a lot of fun!
Kristyann caught a fish at the pond at Shad's reception. Shad had it stocked so that Bert could fish and then he was dizzy and couldn't fish. Fun and sad!
Fun- Alec would love that. We may have to try it one day. Cute pics.
that is so cute. I am glad you guys had so much fun!
I have only been fishing once and it was so boring, but you blog makes it look so fun! I might have to give it a try again. I love the "my boys" picture! It needs to be on a hallmark card!
I love the "my boys" picture too. It looks like a lot of fun. We will have to try that one day.
Hey guys! You have such a cute blog page, I love it! I love the pics and we love fishing too!
I don't mean to put you on the spot Janessa, but I couldn't help but notice your pure excitement when you pulled that trout of the water. I don't think Jayben was the only one enjoying the fishing trip.
A+ as far as creative family outings go. Looks really fun, didn't know they had anything like that around here. Janessa, what program do you use to edit your pictures?
Cute! Volleyball on Sat.?
Cute Pics Ness I absolutely love the My boys picture... so cute!
Tyler, I did love every minute of it. That's the only way to fish.
I edit my photos using a program called photoscape. you can get a free download online. I love it. Mostly because I love pictures and this way I can show all of them without each individually.
ha that is so freakin cool! man. i have never even caught a fish! even at trout farms, i cant seem to catch one! next time i am SOOO inviting myself. ;O)
Yay I finally came to your blog. So I have to ask, did you eat any of the fish you caught? Last time we went to the fish hatchery was summer 2007, and they are still in the freezer... Your little boy is seriously cute btw. -Amy P
fishing! my boys love it, although it seems like we spend more time untangling fishing wire than we do actually catching fish. cute picture of your two boys.
This looks like so much fun! I wish it were a little closer to where we live. Good work on the half marathon. It was so much fun reading about your adventures and somehow made me jealous that I wasn't the one running it.
Hey guys,
I love that place. Last time we went the fish jumped right out of the water into my bucket.
