Weber County Fair

The Weber County Fair started on Wednesday and ended on Saturday. We were lucky enough to get to go every night, since my brother-in-law Nick was singing in the Fair Idol. He did very well. The first night he sang his own song, "this bottle". He got excellent reviews from the judges. Thursday was Broadway night, Friday was country night and Saturday he could sing any song of his choice.
He placed in the top 5. Nice job Nick.

A few other highlights from the fair were the Sting Ray exhibit that you could actually touch them, and of course Jayben wanted to. We walked through all the farm animals and Jayben kept getting a little too close. I don't know how many of you have walked through a county fair lately but this was the last statement I expected to hear. "Mom, it smells good in here!" This is the same kid that dry-heaves when he poops.
.

The he went on his first rollercoaster ride. He did really good. I just feel bad that Ben missed it because the lady operating the ride was so eager to get Jayben on, she didn't even wait for Ben to get back with the tickets, even after I told her he wanted to watch. Then she lied to me and told me that he would still be on the ride when Ben got back and only let him go around 3 times. On the bright side she let him go for free a second time. I made the mistake of telling Jayben that if he got scared he should look at his feet. I'm surprised he even listened. After the rollercoaster ride he used his own relaxation technique

Janessa,
That is hilarious about the "stench" at the county fair. Congrats to your hubby for his idol talents! Thanks for commenting on my blog, it was fun to see your name pop up. See you on Friday!

These pictures are hillarious because it is the tyical fair! I especially love the 17 year old riding the 3 year old ride and look, she loves it more than Jayben!!

I love that he calms himself by putting his finger up his nose. I have never understood why that calms kids (and sadly some adults) but it does.

My son also uses the "calming technique" - makes me so proud as a mother (uggh!)

When is your half marathon?

Our family sang at the state fair in Blackfoot. Of course, this was before you and Je'taime.

Hey Janessa

I like the pictures of the fair. Nick did great! Too bad, we didn't get him enough support to win. I put together a Dow Family Blog and want to add stuff, so I'm going to still your pictures of Nick and David. But, if you want to post on the blog, email the email I sent up for the family blog.

Nick did really well on Saturday when Carson and I were there. I'm glad Jayben liked his first roller coaster ride. Cute pics.

That is so funny! Scarlett complains about the smell if we're within a mile of any kind of barn smell. On the other hand I think it's Kyle's favorite. Would you guys be up for a couples volleyball date night again sometime (this time at the stake center). If yes, any suggestions as to who to invite?

It looks like you guys have been up to a lot of fun things this summer! I love the movie of Jayben milking the goat! I also cannot believe that David is already home. It seems like that went by really quickly.
