Today was the first day of kindergarten for Jayben. He was ready to get on the bus so early! We snapped a photo on the porch. The first pic he was sad because the bus wasn't already waiting for him. But as soon as I said "kindergarten" he smiled.
We waited at the bus stop with all the other kids and their eager moms and dads. Lots of pictures were taken. The kids could have cared less. The sound of a big deisel engine roared down the street. Excitement followed. Jayben grabbed me around my waist and hugged me tight.(A moment I'm going to hang onto because I know it won't be long before he won't do that in public). Then he was gone in a flash. I had to beg him to look back at me to get a picture of him on the bus. No fear and no tears ... Ok...Lincoln cried a little. I was a little more sad than I thought I would be. You know, when your kid has to get immunized and you know it's best for them but it still hurts to watch them. That's kind of how it felt to watch him get on the bus.
On the way to school he sat by Caleb. On the way home he sat by Lilly, Edie and Cambrie. Logan and Jaxie helped him off the bus and home. The first thing he said was "it was so short". I assume he was talking about school, it was only 2 hours today. Ben called to talk to him but getting Jayben to talk on the phone is not easy. Jayben said, "we did our work, played outside and we were done!"

We had simons family here the other day and I gave the kids the option of going to school or staying home. Joshua was the only one who went to school. I always look at Joshua and think he is to little to be getting on the bus. He just loves school.
I'm sorry, but he seriously cracks me up! I love reading about the things he says. I wonder where he got his attitude? :) You and Ben are both so laid back! Let's get together!
Too bad your mother didn't take pictures of you going to kindergarten. Maybe that was because you were "retarded"; I mean tardy.
Janessa, I just love you guys! I haven't checked your blog forever and suddenly Jayben is headed off to college! The things he says are killing me! I'm at work crying and trying to explain why it's funny that my friend's son is singing "Apologize." We need to catch up!! Love ya!
