January update

Sorry for the lack of creativity on the title. This month has been busy, busy, busy.

I am doing my best to keep Jayben entertained and educated at the same time (I do not think I am fit to do homeschool). This month we painted and learned about photography. Jayben took about 12 pictures of just his feet. Of course his toes are crossed. Do you think that things like that are nurture or nature? I am convinced with him most of the things he does are nature. I have never once heard Ben tell Jayben to cross his toes or show him how to do it. Also, my mother mouths words that other people are saying and Jayben does it. But anyway sorry about the side story.

Somehow Jayben has also learned to be accident prone, just like Ben's sister(s). I will not name names. The other night we are sitting at home and Jayben said his head itched and I look and he has a gash in his forehead from scratching it. So, I cut his nails but even that didn't help, he is a scab picker (another trait he was probably born with). Then, we went to the store the other day and in order to avoid a power struggle in Bukoos I allowed Jayben to stay by me because he did not want to ride in the cart. Well, like any 3 year old boy he decided to climb in the clothes rack and swing out of it. We are talking a gymnastic style dismount from the bars here. And he landed on his knees and face. So, now he has a gash in his head, a fat lip and bruised knees. Not to mention the burn on his thumb from playing with a treadmill. OUCH!

The basement is coming along great. We are getting the plumbing in as I write this and should be ready for mud and tape by the weekend. (I hope!) The boys have been working really hard and we sure appreciate it. They have made many trips to Home Depot. The shower was and remains to be quite a fun thing. We got a great deal but we have to take down a wall to get it into the bathroom. We are loving to search items on KSL, and I feel like I know a little about home theater systems now. So, if you have questions let me know. But mostly, I can't wait for my floor to be clean again. Oh and the sweet party we will have when this is finished!

Never a dull moment huh?! Keeps you on your toes! Im glad you are the kinda mom that takes pics of everything as well - the good and the bad moments... our kids may hate us later (dating age when we use these pics and videos as blackmail) but in the end they will LOVE us for it!

Joshua is a little accident proned, but it seems to be only his forehead that gets it, one bump will just be about gone and then "poof" there is another one somewhere else. Good thing he has a hard head.

Josh mentioned that you were finishing your basement. It got the wheels in Tim's head turning. I keep telling him that we need to finish the yard first. We can't wait to see the final product.

Don't you just love Bukoos! Wow, the basement is looking nice. I want an invite once it's done. Home theater? Awesome!
